Julie Brown Named Director of Culture and Inclusion at Boulay

Boulay is proud to announce that Julie Brown, SHRM-CP, PHR was recently promoted to Director of Culture and Inclusion. She transitioned to the newly created position on May 1, 2023.

“I am incredibly honored to serve in this new role,” says Brown. “I look forward to collaborating with firm leadership and team members to provide an employee experience which offers opportunity, growth, recognition, connectivity, and a sense of belonging. A positive and inclusive employee culture is key to continued success for our team and clients.”

As the Director of Culture and Inclusion, Brown will be responsible for managing and executing the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and programming. She will also continue to lead other initiatives related to onboarding, offboarding, and activities ensuring Boulay’s new and fully remote team members feel connected to their teams and the firm.

Brown has been with Boulay since 2007, when she joined Boulay’s Human Resources department as a Human Resource Representative. She holds a Bachelor of Organizational Communications degree from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and a Master of Human Resource Management degree from St. Mary’s University. Brown is a Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), as well as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). She is a member of the Twin Cities Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Roundtable and enjoys various volunteer opportunities with the Boulay Team.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband (and dog, Nala), singing in the Unity Minneapolis volunteer choir, traveling and Latin dancing.
