Boulay Welcomes New Tax Partner

Boulay recently hired Michael Laier, CPA as a new Tax Partner. He joins Boulay with over 12 years of professional accounting experience.

As the leader of Boulay’s private equity and search fund tax team, Mike provides tax consulting and compliance services to entities taxed as partnerships. He focuses on complex planning and compliance issues related to entity formations, sales, mergers, and reorganization transactions. Mike serves clients in a wide range of industries, and has significant experience with manufacturing, construction and private equity companies. He strives to educate clients on the complex issues that occur in partnership tax, to enhance their understanding and work collaboratively to find the right solutions. Prior to joining Boulay, Mike served as the Great Lakes practice lead for the Pass-Through Consulting Services Group of a large national public accounting firm.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Illinois State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He participates in both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and pets, fishing, playing video games, and working out.
