Boulay, a leading Twin Cities accounting and consulting firm, is excited to welcome back Michael Laier, CPA as a Tax Partner. He rejoins Boulay with over 15 years of professional accounting experience.
As a member of Boulay’s specialty tax services group, Mike provides tax consulting and compliance services to entities taxed as partnerships. He focuses on complex planning and compliance issues related to entity formations, sales, mergers, and reorganization transactions. Mike serves clients in a wide range of industries, and has significant experience with manufacturing, construction and private equity companies. He strives to educate clients on the complex issues that occur in partnership tax, to enhance their understanding and work collaboratively to find the right solutions. Prior to joining Boulay, Mike worked within the national tax offices of several top 10 national public accounting firms as a partnership tax specialist.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Illinois State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He participates in both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and pets, fishing, playing video games, and working out.
