Boulay Financial Advisors, LLC (BFA) is proud to announce that Chad Carlson, CPA, was recently promoted to Chief Investment Officer. He transitioned to the position on August 1, 2023.
As the Chief Investment Officer, Carlson leads BFA’s portfolio management team and is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of BFA’s investment process, due diligence and portfolio allocation decisions. He leads BFA’s investment committee, monitors current markets, and communicates necessary changes and committee decisions to the BFA Advisory Group and clients. Carlson also oversees day-to-day investment activities and performance reporting, and he creates and refines departmental processes to enhance productivity.
Carlson joined Boulay PLLP in 2000 and started his transition to BFA in 2003. He has nearly 20 years of experience within the wealth management field. Carlson holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Northwestern—St. Paul and is Series 66 registered. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Outside of work, Chad enjoys cross country road trips visiting various college football venues, cheering on his Nebraska Cornhuskers, the occasional “do it yourself” home remodeling project as well as horseracing and racehorse ownership.
